ADHD & Autism Programs

At Sunburst Academy, we utilize several synergistic therapies to help our clients with ADHD and Autism achieve personal success. We tailor each set of therapies to the individual and their goals. These therapies may include any or all of the following:

Listening Therapy : Our modulated music from Vital Links helps our clients with autism reduce sensory overwhelm, improve sensory integration and modulate their moods and behavior. Our ADHD and Autistic clients see significant improvement in their ability to focus and in their impulse control. Each individual's listening therapy program is built around their needs and personal goals.

Concepts Programs: Our concepts programs include a variety of proven therapies that our specialists have discovered. Rather than relying on any one therapy as a "One Size Fits All" mentality, our specialists are able to pull from their decades of combined experience to compile the best therapies for each individual. This can include work with clay modeling, concept play, sensory modulation, behavioral tools, and more.

Movement for Focus: We help our clients improve focus strength and duration thru a variety of whole-body movements combined with focus tasks. When our clients incorporate their new focusing tools with movement and balance, their new neural pathways are strengthened. This makes focusing a far easier task for our clients, which leads to improvements in social skills and academics.

The Videos below are taken of a 6 year old client at the beginning and end of their 2 week program. This balancing and catching series is part of our Movement For Focus exercises that help our clients strengthen their new focus tools and neural pathways. Note in the first video that our client had difficulty balancing and didn't get to the catching part of this exercise. In the After video, our young client has an easy time balancing on one foot (they are so well balanced that you may need to zoom in to see that they are indeed balancing on one foot) and successfully caught two balls at once. Most importantly, the look on their face after the catching series captures their joy in success.
